How To Create a Facebook Landing Page

Today I decided it was time to create a Facebook fan landing page for my blog.  If you are looking to do this for your business then here are some simple instructions for doing so.  I assume that you already have a Facebook account.

1. Create a new page from within your Facebook account.

To do this log into Facebook.com and go here.

Select the appropriate type of page you want to create.

It’s not entirely important which category you choose.  You can change your “info” from your page later.  Walk through the wizard and save your page.

2.  Add the Static Html application to your page

Type “Static HTML: iframe tabs” in the search box and select it from the list.

Click “add to my page” on the left hand column on the Static HTML Facebook page.

When prompted select the appropriate “Add to Page”.  Click close when finished.

If you don’t get redirected to your new page then switch to your page from your Facebook Account dropdown.

3. Configure Your Landing Page

Again if you aren’t redirected to the Static HTML app you will need to click on the “Welcome” link from the left menu.

This will load the Static HTML Facebook app.  The great thing about this is that you can enter any HTML that you want.  You can have a form, a picture, a video, etc.

Note:  Do not “auto-play” any videos or Facebook may delete or suspend your account.

To finish click “Save and view tab…”  That’s it!

I had to click save twice when I did it so make sure you have a copy of your HTML just in case.

Tip:  Your landing page has a different URL than your regular Facebook page.  Make sure you copy the proper link before sharing it.

Click here to view my Facebook page.  Be sure to click “Like”. 🙂

Share your Facebook landing page in the comments below (or any cool ones you like).
